New additions to CIB – tablets and a book scanner

The Information and Library Centre offers users new tools to support learning. Students and staff of the Medical University of Łódź can use tablets available for loan and a modern book scanner.

Tablets

The library offers a self-service tablet rental system. The devices allow you to conveniently use the Internet, applications and the library’s electronic resources anywhere in the building.

How to borrow a tablet?

1. Place your ID card on the reader and remove the tablet from the Dock.
2. Wait a moment for the profile to start up and then use your device.
3. When you’re done, put the tablet back in the station.

Tablets can be used by UMED students and employees with valid ID cards.
The loan period is 3 hours, with the possibility of a one-time extension for another 3 hours. After return, the device automatically deletes the user’s data and prepares itself for the next person.

1. CIB, Information Desk (first floor), computer room (ground floor)
2. Faculty of Pharmacy, ul. Muszyńskiego 1
3. Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, ul. Żeligowskiego 7/9

Book scanner

CIB also has a modern book2net Spirit A3 scanner, designed for fast and convenient scanning of books and articles.

The device is intuitive to use, providing step-by-step instructions on how to perform a scan. The system automatically straightens pages, crops images and saves files in high quality. Scanned materials can be easily saved and always kept with you on your own device.
