Opening hours

The Information and Library Center is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
In addition, students and employees of the University of Medical Sciences in Lodz can use the library from 8 pm to 8 am, Monday through Saturday, i.e., the CIB 24/6 operation system. Entry to the CIB building, after 8 pm, is possible only after scanning a student ID card or employee card in the reader at the side entrance.

During night hours, on the ground floor is available for users:
Circulation Desk, Book locker, Book drop, Chill out Zone and Computer room.

On the first floor in the Reading Room, available to users are a Free Access Zone and reading and learning spaces.

Circulation Desk

The assistance of the Circulation Desk staff is provided daily from 8 am to 6 pm excluding Saturdays and Sundays.

Under CIB’s 24/6 work system, after 6 pm, it is possible to borrow books independently using Self Check stations located on the ground and first floors of the building.  

A computer room is provided on the ground floor. The use of computers does not require reservations, and there is no limit to the time spent working at the computer.

Circulation cards are processed electronically. Financial arrears are dealt with by the staff of the Lending Library on an individual basis.

Reading room / Free Access Zone

The reading room is open to readers daily from 8 am – 8 pm, on Saturdays from 9 am – 2 pm (closed on Sundays).

Under the CIB 24/6 access system, staff assistance is provided daily from 8 am – 8 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am – 2 pm.

• Readers can take selected books off on their own. When finished, the publication must be put on a specially prepared cart or leave the book on a table.
• At the entrance to the reading room, the user will be given the number of the table at which he is required to work.
• In quiet study rooms, depending on the size of the rooms, there can be up to two people in a small room or up to four people in a large room
• It is completely prohibited to bring and consume beverages and food products.
• On ongoing basis, orders for scans of publications from journals that are not available electronically are being fulfilled – orders can be placed by e-mail to: cib.miedzybiblioteczna@umed.lodz.pl
