Ebook Central (ProQuest) – a database with access to full-text e-books, provided through the ProQuest platform. Indexes e-books in health, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, psychology, chemical, general and environmental engineering, anatomy and physiology, biology and natural history, botany, chemistry, geology, business and many other fields.


ClinicalKey – a comprehensive database of medical information from Elsevier Publishing, containing a wealth of clinical decision support material. Provides access to books and textbooks subscribed to by the Medical University of Lodz in around 80 clinical specialities, such as English-language anatomy textbooks.


Ovid – a database of English-language e-books in the social sciences, clinical medicine, health professions, life sciences, biomedical sciences, nursing and patient education. The database provides the ability to search titles alphabetically and by discipline.


LWW Health Library Medical Education – a platform where English-language textbooks subscribed by the University of Łódź are available. The subject areas of the database include anatomy, social sciences, biochemistry, embryology, epidemiology, genetics, histology, introduction to clinical medicine, microbiology/immunology, neuroscience, pathology/pathophysiology, pharmacology, physical examination, physiology, reading research, reviewing, studying research. The database provides the opportunity to interrogate books and to quickly access figures, tables and audiovisual material available inside the textbook.


SpringerLink – a multidisciplinary database of books from Elsevier Publishing.


ScienceDirect Books – Elsevier Publishing’s interdisciplinary database of peer-reviewed scientific literature. Books and textbooks can be browsed alphabetically or by discipline.


Wiley Online Library – a multidisciplinary database providing access to books in English, including those in medicine and related sciences.


FreeBooks4Doctors – a database of books available in the Open Access model, covering publications in various fields of medicine and related sciences. It also allows access to the full text of publications.


Directory of Open Access Books – a database that collects bibliographic information about scientific books published in the Open Access model. It also enables access to the full text of the publication.

Use of the database is free of charge. It is also possible to submit your own books published in open access free of charge via a form.
