The Information and Library Center of the Medical University of Lodz is a university-wide organizational unit with scientific, teaching and service tasks, which also performs the function of a public scientific library, operating on the basis of the Statute of the Medical University of Lodz dated September 29, 2011. Full use of its services and resources, including borrowing and returning of books, is possible on the basis of a UM student ID card or an employee ID card in the case of UM employees.
The UM Information and Library Center’s modernly equipped building offers users wi-fi, spacious relaxation areas, two- and six-person quiet study rooms, which can be reserved at the Information Desk on the first floor.
There are also computer workstations with Internet access and a sector of workstations available for readers to search the Center’s catalog.

A significant part of the collection is located in open areas with free access to shelves (layout according to NLM Classification).
Borrowing and returning of books on your own is possible thanks to the self-checks installed on the ground and first floors. Information on the location of books is available in the catalog.
Individual book collections, depending on the target group and the form of access, are marked with different colored stickers: yellow – student collection, gray – medical collection; orange – student handheld collection, red – medical handheld collection.
The subjects of the collection correspond to the range of disciplines represented at the Medical University of Lodz: medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, health sciences, military medicine, physiotherapy, biology, chemistry, physics, biotechnology, genetics, hygiene, clinical psychology, dietetics, sociology, philosophy, ethics, bioethics.
We present a digitized collection resource on the Internet under the name of CYBRA Lodz Regional Digital Library. The publications made available, including old prints and university publications, are indexed and available through search engines at the article level.
We are a member of a consortium of university libraries – the Lodz Academic Library Network (LASB), established to implement a common system for automating the work of libraries and maintaining a central catalog of the resources of Lodz academic libraries.
Users can take part in online training/courses on the Moodle educational platform, allowing them to learn in practice the use of databases, electronic journals, computer catalogs
